    Capitalism's internal contradictions always lead to incessant crashes. It's built-in to the system. You can keep applying patches to capitalism, but that just kicks the can down the road. The last crash was "fixed" by loading everyone with enormous debt, creating an economic bubble so that the next crash will be even worse.

    The only reason the Great Depression ended was because of WWII. Beyond that, your question is too difficult to answer.

    The unemployment rate went down after the Great Depression because of WWII. Americans were either in the military or working to support the effort.
