Do you think being a high school teacher is a good career? If you retire, does the school district pay you?

My major is in middle childhood/adolescent education.

    Now is a bad time to become a teacher

    Society thinks you are greedy

    There is no more academic freedom: You are a slave to testing

    Now, the teachers is always wrong and the student is always right

    Red tape is cataclismic

    Students are no longer punished FOR ANYTHING

    You can no longer fail a student

    If you are in college, you should be aware of the concept of pensions.

    I'm a retired mathematics professor. The only thing that depends on how good your career will be is what type of students you will be teaching.
