Woodworking: is it a good idea to glue IKEA furniture?

    Glue alone won't hold as well as the included hardware. The furniture should hold up as well without glue and if necessary, is easier to dismantle for moving without the glue.

    No, it isn't. The problem isn't that the glue won't hold, the furniture will break/splint in the areas that you glued it and become detached. IKEA does offer a service where they assemble your items for you though, and that really helps if you're not comfortable assembling it yourself.
