What happens during a Juror Trial?

I'm going to a Juror Trial in a couple of weeks. I don't even know what a Juror Trial is nor why I'm going.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos though.

How was your experience?

Trials IRL are a lot more boring than on TV. So prepare for a lot of down time and expect the attorneys not to look like Meghan Markle.

If you've been called for jury service, you will be told exactly what you have to do. Show up when you are asked to, and pay attention to what is said.

It was one of the more interesting new experiences that I've had in the last few years.

Do you mean a jury trial? And in what country or state?

You're talking about jury duty. You're on jury duty for one month. You call after 5pm every week day during that month to find out if you have to show up to the court house the next day. A large number of court cases are settled before they even get to trial. I've been selected for jury duty three times but only called in once. I wasn't even selected to sit on the jury.

You are on a jury to listen to evidence in a trial and after all the evidence is given to you then you have to vote with the other jurors to decide if the person is innocent or guilty.

There is no such thing. A jury trial is a trial in front of (theoretically) a panel of your peers who decide on a verdict instead of a trial in front of a judge.

Jurors are the individuals who sit on the jury.

You'll never be selected to sit on a jury.

One day (0730 to 1600) of sitting in the Jury Pool (room), waiting to be called. Then IF Called, after a few questions to be selected (or not) for a trial.

No radio, No TV, No internet.Bring a Book or crosswords, maybe a deck of cards.

Many Are Called, Few are Chosen.

Actually after my first 5 years on the list (c 1990) They Changed the system. Now once the card arrives in the mail for selection, The prospective juror calls the court clerk at 1700 the day before, and only goes to the Jury Pool IF needed. and if not call again the next week.Otherwise that is it. for five years or so. After 5 years a person may be eligible again...
