I use to get green numbers beside my "friends" list on facebook but not anymore. Did FB messenger do away with this?

While I was offline and a "friend" sent me 1,2 or 3 messages a green number would appear by their name so I would know immediately to look for their message(s). Did FB messenger do away with that -or- did I do something and how do I get this great feature back?

    Nope Im looking at my Messenger List now and I see Green Dots next to peoples Names
