The recent Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse investigated religions other than Catholicism and found the same percentage of abusers in all religions.

We hear more about the Catholics because there are more of them even though the percentage is the same. Half the 2.2 billion Christians in the world are Catholics so they have as many clergy in the one church as all the thousands of other Christian sects and religions put together. If the percentage of paedophiles is, for instance, 5% then 5% of the clergy of a church with 1.1 million followers is going to be a lot more sex abusers than 5% of the clergy of a church with 1000 followers.

Child sexual abuse has made the headlines because the Catholic Church covered up the activities of the abusers and allowed them to continue unchecked. Some of them had hundreds of victims. It is the cover up that is to be condemned. The abusers are now all facing courts.

Sadly the largest number of child sexual abusers is not to be found in the clergy or among teachers or youth group leaders but in families. The majority of abusers are fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, brothers and close family friends. Families, however, are even better than the church at covering it up and abusers are seldom brought to justice.

It won't end until priests can marry and have a family. The celebasy vow is unatural and selects for people with sexual identity issues.

I think your belief is admirable, however, this has been going on since a priest couldn't get laid. The church and all the prayer in the world aren't going to fix the biologically-driven sexual impulse. Why do you think 50% of priests admit to viewing porn regularly? #GuysLikeSex - and it's about time we say it out loud so that wives here it to - guys get married to have a lot of sex - and then realize they married a wife.

I think it's part of satanic rituals... there's a lot of Hollywood involvement in pedophilia too. That doesn't mean every Catholic and every person in Hollywood is a pedophile -- just that it is rampant in these environments.

it says in the bible not to forbid a man to marry. so the catholic church ignores the bible here. THey need to allow priests and nuns to marry.
