How can one side of the political spectrum express this level of hate and contempt for the other and still expect to be taken seriously?
https://newrepublic.com/article/140948/bluexit-blu...
Read that, and THEN tell me how they can ever expect the other side to have any respect for them or take them seriously. If everyone read this piece, it would pretty much hand the next election to the other side.
For those who can't tell the link is legitimate, just Google "New Republic bluexit" and you'll get to the same place.

From the article...
"A few years of Republican border and refugee policies, and we’ll be headed back to the ever-whiter America that preceded Lyndon Johnson’s 1965 immigration reforms. "
That is insane. We've gone from 88% white to 72% white (us census). How exactly will controlling the border reverse this? It's an insane rant.

You start by understanding that The New Republic is biased Left Wing Liberal.

Factual content is high, but presentation and stories are biased heavily Liberal Left
Initial paragraph is accurate in general, that the Democrat leaning blue states pay more in Federal Taxes than they benefit from the Federal Government and Red states are takers.
And, Republicans have moved White, Right, bitter, as 90% of Republicans in Congress are white non-Hispanic Males.
And, it is true that Trump regularly challenges the US Constitution and what is does winds up in Federal Courts, ruling against him, more than anyone else in a very long time.
Yes, many Democrats are very annoyed with the Republicans.
It is missing some key information.
"Red" states Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, Iowa
are more purple than red. They seem to support Biden over Trump for 2020.
Texas has changed from a "taker" state to slightly "giver" state for Federal taxes vs benefits.
Cities are growing, and cities are generally Democrat.
But, from what I see, the Right Wing hates the Left and the Left Wing hates the Right.

Red States do need to start carrying their own weight. Blue states are fed up with shelling out the cash in federal taxes and getting little back in federal spending. Worse yet, the red states are hostile and ungrateful.
The article is not entirely serious but you get the message. It expresses honest frustration.
