Who has traveled to Israel?

This coming Sunday, my aunt & uncle are taking a trip to Israel. Now I know that visiting Israel can be a dangerous trip. Because of the eternal conflict between Israel and Palestine. Jews fighting against Muslims. My cousin & I are hoping and praying that they'll have a safe trip and will return home safely.

I have just cone back from Israel and I had a great time there. I went to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and the Dead Sea and didn't have any trouble at all. People from friendly and helpful, Orthodox Jews shared their food with me, things ran efficiently, and I felt perfectly safe. It's a splendid country with so many sites of interest. The terrorist attacks of years ago have been greatly reduced and police intelligence is on its game. If you go there you'll be fine.

    Its not that safe

    And definitely not that pretty

Ugly dry place with ugly fanatic people

    Lebanon and Egypt worth more

  • Two Christian Orthodox friends of mine went to that terrible place, to celebrate Easter but some Jewish pickpockets stole their wallets with their money, passports and travel documents upon arrival.

A relative traveling along got her purse snatched by two Jewish scooter riders and she fell down scraping the ground and got 6 stitches on her right leg.

I don't want to sound pessimistic but this is not a safe place to spend time at.

Let's not mention those bombs falling down from the skies on a daily basis. It's a show of horrors imho.

I've also noticed that all of those favourable comments usually come by this Jewish person here with dozens of fake accounts, so you be the judge.

    I have.

I'm an American used to Western standards and have never felt in danger being in Israel.

Here's the thing: Israel is under constant threat, but they have some of the best security in the world. Naturally, that's covering your aunt and uncle. Internal crime in Israel is noticeably lesser than it is in many US cities, so in all actuality they may be safer there than wherever y'all are from. I wouldn't worry too much about your aunt and uncle, unless they're the types to walk down a dark alley in the bad parts of town late at night wearing bright and flashy jewelry. The worst thing they should look out for is being ripped off in a shuk (outdoor marketplace) if they don't know that they can negotiate prices.

I'm in Israel a lot. It's much safer than the media says! As long as they don't venture into conflict hotspots (certain parts of East Jerusalem, certain parts of the West Bank and near the Gaza border or border with Syria) they will be fine. It's also just a good idea to just employ basic common sense.

Even if they venture into the more high risk areas, there are always Israeli soldiers around guarding.

Your uncle and aunt are more likely to be hurt in a card accident on their way to the airport than be harmed in any conflict related incident in Israel.

Hope they have a good trip!
