**** University?

I need to go on a mad rant because I've had enough. I'm trying my best to do my assignments and try to get atleast a first in all my coursework. Atleast that's what I said at the start of the year. I've been in uni for nearly 3 years (I'm in my second year because I did a foundation ) and I keep telling myself that uni ain't for me. The reason that I've gone this far with uni is because I come from an African background. My family think that if you don't have a uni degree. You're a failure in life. A piece of paper to prove you're something is the reason as to why I'm still in this ****. Especially since I know that whatever i do in uni still won't change the fact that I'll just end up no way and working a 9 to 5 like most graduates. I study music production in uni and the **** they teach me is ******* bullshit since I can learn from a couple minutes from YouTube. The job industry I wanna work for requires me to get experience in order to find a job. Which uni is suppose to help me with. However they don't. **** uni. It's a waste of time, energy and money.

It’s your decision to waste this time to gratify your parents’ vanity.

From my experience, that piece of paper can bring you a little bit of more money compared to your high school degree (in America). If you would like to pursue music, do so after you've graduated. you're better off pursuing a career/job that you can fully dedicate your time and energy into your craft. Let that "piece of paper" be a back up plan because starving artists need to feed themselves. my boyfriend is able to practice medicine as a doctor but dedicates his free time to music in his every spare time because they are both passionate for him!

trust me when I say, many students do not major in a subject that they love. we now live in times we must worry about student loans so, we need to find viable jobs.

Good rant, sorry you're having such a tough time at the university. In my day, things were a lot easier.

Drop out silly. College is overrated. Let your bills go to collections.

    Find a trade skill.
