If this happened in the UK and the elderly man reports being knocked over and scared by your dog, and he is on the lookout for you, you could be charged with having a dangerous dog out of control.
In the UK the law on dangerous dogs is VERY strict and a dog only has to give someone a big fright in some way, when out on public, for it to be classed as dangerous, and ordered to be muzzled and on the lead when not on it`s own premises.
If you are in the US, laws may be a lot different. I cannot comment on them.

it is the law in many countries for a dog to killed, roasted and eaten by the victim,
so be careful!

Did this elderly man know you ? If he was a perfect stranger, he might not be able to give the police any information about you, and you can not to let it happen again .

I give you an A- for the amount of people falling for this.

Hard to say. If this is your neighborhood and he or someone else recognized you, you could get in some kind of trouble. You should have tied your dog to something and gone back and helped him up at least, apologized, and asked if he needed any other assistance.
