Why do people believe in god?

They were conditioned by their own parents / family and / or, they were brainwashed.

Being raised that way helps, but generally people can see a sort of magic with nature and life in general. It's easy to think a magical Who might be involved, especially if not well educated on the natural reasons certain things happen and even then life certainly has coincidences that would be easy to assign to a magical Who, especially with a biased filter looking for such.

There are literally millions of man-made gods; which one are you specifically referring too Elijah?

Because living a life of hopelessness has limited appeal.

FEAR and Programming.

The Holy Bible, millions of changed hearts and saved souls every year, conviction of the Holy Spirit, and pure logic.

Every effect has a cause and has to have one. The Universe is the effect, God is the cause.

Explosions dont Create order and structure.

They create destruction and chaos. Explosions also have causes. The Big Bang is illogical. But God isn't.

Something had to Create everything including us.

Nothing within the Unuverse could Create the Universe itself. That's illogical.

Something outside the Universe MUST HAVE Created it. This is God.

Everything is also Intelligently Designed.

Think of how everything orbits just perfectly.

Earth is finely tuned for life.

Nowhere else can have it.

That's not luck or chance, its Intelligent Design.

Look at the complexity of everything.

That's also proof of God.

"I can't understand why people actually believe that stuff." Your answer is there: you cannot understand. And we can.

They have been terrorized as infants.

They simply fear not to believe, they have been threatened all their lives if they don't "believe" disaster is sure to befall them. Believers will make sure of that.

That's why they require that you have faith because there really is no way for them to prove it to you other than what they've "experienced" or over "completed prophecies".
