In the state of North Carolina would you start an LLC or a sole proprietorship for a hotdog vending business?

I'm really debating on the two. I understand that there is more protection with an LLC but you can also get liability insurance along with a sole proprietorship so idk

LLC. Even with liability insurance, if you're sued they can go after all your personal assets if there is an award above the limits on your insurance.

What about a DBA...unless you have hundreds of thousands in personal assets at age 20 or 21.

You would need liability insurance in either case
