Be honest with yourself and where you are at. My first big breakup was heart wrenching,

-Get some fresh air. Go on nights walks with some favorite music to wind down after a hard day

    -Cry. Get it out.

-Don't rebound, you are setting yourself up for more heartbreak to date when you aren't healed

-Call a friend or family member, talk about it

-Download the app "Mend" It gives you free daily sessions on how to heal.

-Don't try to be "friends" right away, you can just shut your heart off like that.

-Focus on a new hobby to keep your mind busy

-Be kind to youself. Nap if you need to, go out for dessert if that cheers you up. Do things you love

If you broke up with them: You may have felt relieved and confident right after breaking up. You knew they weren't the right person for you. A few weeks later you may be lonely and second guessing. This is normal. The pain is setting in, and that will just take time. You did not make a mistake if there are valid reasons!

If they broke up with you: It's not personal. Please look at this as them setting you free to find the person you are going to be with. You are one step closer now. I know it's lame sounding optimism but its the truth.

Heartbreak sucks, just remind yourself its not forever. Time heals your heart. Hang in there!

It's okay to cry. Like the previous person said, walk, listen to music, cry, scream. Do it all at the same time if you want or need to. It's okay. Everybody processes hurt differently. There really is no right or wrong way to handle other than harming yourself or others.

It just takes time man. You’ve got to be alone for a while, but then maybe you can move in and go out with friends or family and have fun. You just gotta try be happy and live in the moment.
