Suspicion of hacking. Is Yahoo! Answers now demanding "Captcha" solutions to post answers? Should I be worried?
Thank you all. I neglected to add that my tablet (Ematic EWT826BK. Windows 10/1079 - a gem @≈$60) warned me that my fast food guest Wi-Fi didn't have trusted credentials (If that matters). I'm now guessing that if Y!A is responsible for "Captcha" they're screening suspicious connections. It's hard to choose a best answer
but I deserve all the admonitions.

MANY have asked about this here already. The captcha is a security measure that began on 5/27/19, to prove you are a human user and not a bot program attempting to use the site. Apparently Verizon Media chose to hire the services of Google to provide that function (as noted by the text at the bottom right of the pages “This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the GooglePrivacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.”), instead of programming it themselves. We’re still seeing some bot posts (i.e., the Yahoo Helpline bots) because the captcha isn’t activated every time an account posts. Hopefully the captcha's will be required less frequently, soon. Otherwise, I see another migration of users away from the site due to the added annoyance.
Any time you have an issue with the site or something changes, scroll through the Yahoo Products>Yahoo Answers subcategory and see if anyone else has posted about it. You can find your answer and save yourself 5 pts a lot of times. That’s what the site was designed for (so users wouldn’t need to re-post questions that had already been asked and answered multiple times)

I doubt you need to be worried you'll get a virus,
but I think we need to be worried Yahoo/Verizon/Google is hacking into our personal information.
But probably only to see our search history so they offer ads that pertain to our interests

What do you mean suspicion of hacking? Where you been?
YA! was hacked big time just a few months ago when we users were greeted with Chinese characters on more than half the questions.
If reCAPTCHA rids such hacking in the future, more power to it, Google, and Yahoo.

They are doing it to drive away users, nothing more. All these fools defend it by saying it prevents spam, but not when 100% of the bot spam is caught by the filters they put in a few months ago. That feature is bad enough by itself, most of the time it only censors out legitimate answers. I've seen a lot more spam in the past day almost as if they are doing it just to prove that captchas don't work. 90% of the spam on here is by humans and captchas don't stop humans, making the captchas 100% useless. It also confirms that they were added solely to get rid of users. Verizon has not generated enough ad revenue off this site and they have been trying to shut it down ever since they acquired it.
