did Noah's ark happen?

Not sure what there is NOT to believe if you bother to examine the evidence and NOT rely on unfounded opinion. Do you have problems with the boat itself, the animals, or the Flood?
The dimensions of the Ark are convincing for two reasons: the proportions are like that of a modern cargo ship, and it is about as large as a wooden ship can be built. The dimensions are less than half the Titanic or Queen Mary.
There were large wooden ships of similar length built with the same level of technology in ancient times in far less time: The Greek Tessarakonteres 200 BC 420' x 52'.
Without tiering of cages, only 47 percent of the ark floor would have been necessary. What’s more, many could have been housed in groups, which would have further reduced the required space.
Most non-believers think millions of animals could not fit on the Ark, but their misconception would be in error. The Bible says Noah took only air-breathing land animals. So that excludes sea creatures and possibly insects and other invertebrates. Of the land vertebrates, there are only around 33,000 named living species (and a few thousand more fossil species). These are divided into fewer than 10,000 genera and 1,000 families. So how many kinds of animals were on the Ark? The answer depends on which modern taxonomic level—order, family, genus, or species—represents each original “kind.” Two times 1,000 gives about 2,000 land-dwelling vertebrate animals that Noah had to care for.
Where did all the water come from? The world today is not the same as it was before the Flood, or even during the Flood. For instance, if the mountains, continents, and oceans basins of today’s earth were more leveled out (as would be expected in a global Flood), the planet’s surface water alone would cover the earth an estimated 1.66 miles deep—about 8,000 feet.
The Bible seems silly to atheists because when they read it they fail to apply it's opening premise "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth" They instead read it with the premise "There is no God" What this is all about is whether or not the Old Testament book of Genesis (along with the rest of the Old Testament, and the New Testament) is an accurate account of what happened around 4600 years ago with regard to a worldwide flood and about 6000 years ago with regard to Creation itself. Is the Bible accurate and true or is it just a book of allegorical stories?
Well, why do so many millions of people believe in a worldwide Flood? Because of the enormous amount of evidence. I can give you at least 20 verifiable evidences for Noah’s Flood, but space does not permit.
Let's see the evidence.
Evidence #1
We can document hundreds of cases of polystrate fossils (i.e., fossils that cut through at least two sedimentary-rock layers) elsewhere, including trees, Calamites, and catfish (e.g., Thompson, 2002, pp. 224-230). Perhaps the most famous of such examples would be the discovery of an 80 foot long, baleen whale “standing on end” in a diatomaceous Earth quarry in California (Reese, 1976, 54[4]:40; Snelling, 1995). Only one such example is needed to refute the entire evolutionary uniformitarian interpretation of the geologic column and vindicate the creationists’ catastrophism approach to interpreting the column. Polystrate fossils prove that the geologic layers were laid down rapidly, not gradually over eons of time.
Source(s): Lammerts, Walter (1976), Why Not Creation? (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker), pp. 185-193
Hu, Yaoming, Jin Meng, Yuanqing Wang, and Chuankui Li (2005), “Large Mesozoic Mammals Fed on Young Dinosaurs,” Nature, 433:149-152, January 13.
Very few of these upright fossil trees have attached roots. Many of these roots and rootlets are also buried individually. 9 Thus virtually proving that neither the trees themselves, nor their rootlets were buried in the place where they grew, or "in situ," but were uprooted and re-buried where they are now found.
Rupke says, “In view of this it seems unintelligible that uniformitarianism has kept its dominant position.”
The polystrate tree in the picture below (Joggins, Nova Scotia) shows that in REALITY this tree did NOT grow for millions of years through evolutionary myths of strata boundaries. There are literally thousands of these examples disproving the evolutionary timescale of billions of years.
Evidence #2
Clastic dikes present a problem to the "mythions of years" mindset of evolution in that massive "older" sediments are found intruding up into overlying younger strata. This must have occurred while the "older" sediments were still in a plastic state. This is clearly brought out in a book on this subject by Dr. John Morris on this same subject: i.e. on the Age of the Earth.
What took these "older" sediments so long to become hard? One would think that a million years would be more than enough time to turn massive sand laden sediments into sandstone, yet we have an example of sediments which are said to be 80 million years older than those above them, and yet they still had not become hard, but were in a wet and plastic state when an earth movement caused them to be forced up into the (supposedly much) younger sediments. Such things not only present serious problems for the evolutionary method of "dating", but also tell us that something is wrong with the millions of years mindset of evolutionary theory itself, and thus cause strong suspicion that we are not being told the truth by the mass media, nor the "Scientific" community of believers in evolution.
Evidence #3 - The Fossils Themselves
Fossils don't form on lake bottoms today, nor are they found forming on the bottom of the sea. Instead, they normally only form when a plant or animal is buried soon after it dies. Therefore, the fossils themselves are evidence of a catastrophe such as a flood or volcanic eruption that took place in the past.
Evidence #4 – Extensive Strata Layering
As we observe sedimentary strata throughout the world we see almost everywhere flat-lying (or "pancake") layered strata. Many of these layers are so extensive that they cover several states. For example, the Tapeats Sandstone covers over half of the United States, and drawings from Dana's Manual of Geology depict over 90 percent of the United States and Mexico, and half of Canada under water. We also know that the Grand Canyon was once under the ocean because of the marine fossils that have been found there.
Because there is virtually no evidence of erosion between the layers, and second, because the sheer size and extent of the layers tells us that they could not have been formed by rivers, nor river deltas. That's because many of the "layers" are quite thick and cover literally thousands of square miles.
This, coupled with the presence of marine fossils that are buried in many of the layers, tells us that they were deposited by ocean currents by a flood or floods like nothing we have seen in moderns times.
We can say for certain that it was the ocean (as opposed to a lake) because of the marine fossils that are buried in much of this strata.
"Problematica" is the "code word" paleontologists use to describe out of order fossils, or those that are not easily placed, or that are misplaced, interbedded, or "mixed" in with other strata of a different "date." According to an online Italian to English dictionary the term means "problems." Several years ago, a Google search on this term yielded over a million hits. To some, if not many that seems like a lot of problems for uniformitarian geology to explain.
The preponderance of evidence clearly denies evolution as a complete and utter failure, yet supports the assertion of Creation and therefore a Creator. If you were not already indoctrinated into the disproved philosophy of materialism you would recognize this, or already "know" this.
If we count the generations back to Noah, it would be about 150. The Flood was roughly 4,500 years ago. Average generation span of 30 years. Divide 30 into 450, and you get 150 generations. Sure, it's a rough estimate, coincidence that it's so accurate (like most of the Bible)?

Yes indeed. According to Bible chronology, the global Flood of Noah’s day occurred in 2370 B.C.E.

It sure did. And don’t fall for the “It was lifted from the Epic o’ Gilgamesh..” nonsense; the ark in that story would not work. The proportions of the Biblical Ark however, are inherently stable. We know this from modern ship building.
Older is not always better (even If said “Epic..” was older). No. Just because Moses compiled Genesis later, does not change that the flood chronology was written by Noah (and he was THERE). And Shem, who was also on the Ark, could have spoken to Abraham (check the timeline). That would be like me speaking to Columbus in the 1990’s.
So, yes. I trust the Biblical narrative. And if not, why trust the Gospels? Make up your mind. Are you going to trust sinful fallible man, or the Word of God?

Big time.
All those fossils all over the world of dead things quickly buried in large amounts of sediment like is common with large flooding? There's your proof. If you'd like more info on that interesting subject, watch the vids below.

What is it that you want?
Stop hiding in irrelevancy.
What did you eat last Tuesday for dinner?
Can't remember 3 Tuesdays ago can you?
Noah's Ark is 8,000 years ago.

No it is a very old story lifted almost entirely from both the Babylonians and the Sumerians tales of Gilgamesh.
They changed the names and put their God in charge.

No.
Seriously, Noah, you expect us to believe you fit 2 elephants, 2 giraffes, 2 rhinos, 2 hippos, 2 bears, etc. onto a wooden boat, let alone without it breaking/capsizing?
