Which LCD component is responsible for providing the right kind of power to the backlight?

    I agree with Don R, what device are you trying to fix?

    Most Laptop LCDs have an inverter that sends power to the LCD. But it may be different per device.

    I have attached a good write up on how to repair LCD Backlight issues. Of course it may differ on what device you are working on.
