why do black people not tip?

You’re so wrong that it hurts. I know African American people who over tip and are doctors, lawyers and celebrities. It’s sad that you’re probably poor and live/work in a rough neighborhood to be saying that. Grow up and read a book. Consider moving into a nicer area where Brown people are better.

Is that really a thing? Maybe it's regional because I've not experienced that here up in the left corner.

Maybe it has to do with cultural messages handed down over the generations? It's not like white people tipped to have their cotton picked, laundry done or dinner cooked.

Why do waiters act as though they are owed tips? Not a courtesy but think it's an obligation?.No one owes it to you to tip, they paid for their meal and that's all they need to pay for. I do normally tip them if they are Black but if I keep hearing sh!t like this none of you will get tipped. If you feel you need more money you should talk to your employer or find another job but either way, it's not up to me to compensate for what you are not getting on the job. Secondly, you do not know how much money someone has to be generous with and it's none of your business they came paying for a meal not to put money in your pockets. Then when someone is nice enough to tip you, you complain about how much they tip, No one has time for all that bullsh!t.

Next time you encounter someone who does not tip as you believe they need to, ask them directly why they make this choice so you can better understand their perspective. Remember, when in doubt, ask the question.

A lot of black Americans are conservative Christians. Conservative Christians don't tip. They like leaving religious literature instead of money. Christians are the worst tippers - ask anyone who has had to work Sundays near a church after services let out. Full restaurant, no tips.
