They see it as solely a woman's body, and do not consider the child in the womb to have any human rights at all.

A child at 24 weeks in the womb can be killed, while that same child outside the womb, were she to be killed, would lead to the prosecution of the killer.

Many who say, "her body/her choice" don't really mean it. For most, there is a gestational point at which they become squeamish about abortion. In order to be consistent, if one supports abortion on the basis of a woman being the sole judge of the child in the womb's ability to keep on living, there can be no logical point other than birth at which the woman loses her ability to determine what happens to that child.

No one "loves" abortion. Democrats would like to see an end to it as much as Republicans do, but NOT by making it illegal. Rather, Democrats fight for initiatives that would *actually* reduce the need for abortion, such as better access to affordable healthcare (including reproductive care), improvements in education and the funding of it from preschool to college, and financial programs that help struggling families in need. Dems want to end abortion by making it essentially obsolete, but social conservatives insist on blocking every common sense measure toward that goal that there is.

Abortion is not murder because the law doesn't consider it so.

Most doctors who do abortions are trained as gyns. They do them to protect the health and well-being of the woman -- who is their patient. (And protecting the health and well-being of the patient IS their job.)
