Should the White Sox pursue Kenta Maeda?
There are a couple of problems with this, however. (1) The Dodgers will not be motivated by a salary dump, since his salary is modest (and they are rich), particularly if he doesn’t meet incentives. (2) What is it that the Dodgers would want from the White Sox? I can’t think of a thing, except things that I as a Sox fan would not want to give up. (3) While the White Sox might need rotation help more than any other team, there are other teams that need rotation help, who would be attracted by the favorable contract. Multiple suitors drive up the price, thereby making Maeda not cheap. Having said that, I had not thought of him, and he is exactly the kind of profile that the White Sox should be seeking.

Why would the Dodgers trade him? He's a decent back of the rotation pitcher who can also work out of the 'pen, plus he's a bargain at $3.125M a year (through 2023).
The Dodgers are loaded, offensively, and strong on defense and they have just as many good young prospects as the White Sox so a trade would benefit the Sox more than LA.
Unless Chicago was willing to part with Nick Madrigal (who would fill a need at 2nd for LA) and pitching prospect I see no reason for the Dodgers to agree to a trade.
And I don't think Hahn will trade Madrigal.
