Why aren't Trumps giant tax cuts paying for themselves yet? Shouldn't the deficit be dropping, instead of going way up?

I find it super confusing that you are asking about tax cuts vs the deficit...as though the two were linked somehow.

Trade deficits are related to international commerce and tax cuts are related to entities paying US taxes....these are linked inherently.

I see where you are going here...and I agree...your argument is disjointed though.

No, taxes were already too low, and Trump made them even lower. For the deficit to drop, taxes would have to be higher.

Not only is the deficit going up in actual dollars, the ratio of debt to GDP (gross domestic product) is significantly increased over what it was under "tax & spend" Obama.

When you give people tax cuts, you get less revenue coming into the Treasury and the deficit and the debt would increase without an offset.

Tax cuts 'don't pay for themselves'. Money belongs to the people that earned it, not to the government. There need to be spending cuts to reduce deficits. But politicians on both sides of the aisle cement their political power through welfare. Free benefits to the able-bodied, non-productive and tax 'incentives' to corporations, at the expense of the producing class.

Trump has spent more during the first 2.5 years of his presidency than Obama did. At least Obama had the excuse of the worst global recession in 80 years, but Trump's spending took place during a time of economic growth. There is simply no excuse.

Well, if democrats would let us cut these horrible social programs like welfare and obamacare we might get somewhere not to mention the amount of money we have to keep spending on border control because you jerks are blocking the wall.
