What did you think of Jon Stewart's speech before Congress about the 9/11 responders?

Would the bill have passed without him?

He's the master of the political rant, which apparently carries a lot of weight these days.

I think that Stewart is a patriotic, compassionate and involved man.

His appearance before congress to support these first responders will go down in history as eloquent and moving.

Mitch McTreason has to be publically shamed and scorned or he refuses to do anything for anyone except the Koch, Mercer and Walton family.

Probably not, because Mitch McConnell have been holding this bill hostage in exchange for somethings that he likes but are totally unrelated.

Jon Stewart, the former star comedian who served as host of The Daily Show for 16 years, delivered a passionate speech before Congress on Friday in his first post-Daily Show public appearance.

As of early Saturday, the Washington Post reported that he seemed to mostly receive a positive reception on social media, with some criticizing him for not being a trusted political analyst or pundit.

But Stewart's speech still struck a chord with many, sparking many powerful, inspiring messages on social media about what it means to find strength in and cherish who you are. Some gave him thumbs up for his commentary, while others lambasted him for his past comments. Read some of the social media reactions below:

Many were taken aback by Stewart's comments:
