I have a question about parcel deliveries.?

I am 17 and a female. I usually help my bro take in parcels when he’s at work and no ones available. I heard a knock.

I checked to see who from the window and there’s a guy with parcels + a van with the logo. Therefore, I open the door a tiny little bit. Enough so he can see me but not enough for me to fit through the door gap. He asked me to sign my name for both packages on the phone. So I did. One box is small and one is fairly big.

Giving me the small box I put it on the sofa 2 feet away from me ready to get the other box. Instead of asking he pushed open the door and walked into my house to put it in. I understand he was trying to be nice and help me out but I didn’t ask him to come in and I made it very clear with my door being almost closed. I found it very rude and I was very shocked to see him push open my door and walk in with his shoes without asking me first for permission.

I’m not purposely trying to get him in trouble. My question, is it company policy to walk in someone’s house to place a parcel down? Is it normal for them to walk in without asking? I’ve never had a big parcel sent to me before so I wouldn’t know if that’s normal or not. Should I email the company to talk to their employees. No trouble I would just like them to know it’s not ok to open your door and walk in without asking. Should I let the manager know or is it not worth it? I know I didn’t tell him not to come in but I didn’t tell him to come in either.

Drivers/deliverers are on a tight schedule. they are required to make it to every delivery on their schedule regardless of whether or not someone is home to accept. He was in a hurry and felt he didn't have the time

to wait on you, so he did two things here.

He tried to help you by placing the package in the house, which in turn

got him going so he could move on to the next delivery.

Sure, e-mail the company. Be sure to include the date, time, and location of the incident.

He couldn't deliver the parcel without opening the door. Get over yourself.

Stop being ridiculous. This man went out of his way to help you. Did he attack you, rape you, ? Very few people remove their shoes these days,

Take it for what it was,

    An act of kindness.

    Get over yourself.
