How often are google satellite maps refreshed? Are we getting recent images?

    The detailed maps where you can see street markings etc. are not satellite images, they are from aircraft.

    The updates can be every few months for major cities or anything up to several years apart for places with less people.

    depends on the service.

    most of google's are updated every 3 years.

    it takes a long time to drive around the world...

    Every image on Google Maps has a date by it. They are updated at different times!
