Well, if a decent paying job and an affordable standard of living mean anything, then Dallas is your better bet. It means nothing of you make $150,000 a year but housing (small at that) is around 2 million dollars (okay, okay, they had a special this week and it's only $1.90 million--but not a penny less). Economically, the DFW area is growing and while traffic can be a pain, at least there is an effort at addressing it. The DFW area is diverse and includes people from all over the country (especially California these days) as well as a large immigrant population. I hope that helps.

That depends. If I had a lot of money, I'd probably live in LA. But if I didn't, Dallas would be a better option.

Dallas.... just watch LunkersTV + LakeForkGuy on YouTube + their respective vlog channels for when they're not doing outdoorsy things ("The Real Americans" + "Lake Life Family"), they live around the general DFW area.... also lots of reports of companies moving from Los Angeles to Texas because the authorities there are less of a pain in the butt to deal with.

Los Angeles ain't that brilliant unless you're rich enough to live in one of the gated posh bits.... lots of recent reports of a homeless crisis there, and diseases such as Typhoid + Bubonic plague reported to be making a comeback as a result of them sh*tting everywhere.

I've seen comments below news articles lately of people saying how much better off they since they left California even though they've gone to lower paying Red States.

LA was involved in an earthquake today, I would pick Dallas!
