motorcycle rotors getting hot normal?

I have a 1500 intruder 1999 an notice my rotors to get extremely hot. I drive in the city an after a 2 mile drive stop an go can have my rotors hot enough to sizzle spit? is this normal? ive tried using just my front brake only to test if the rear was bad an while the back was slightly warm with no use the front was hot enough to cook on . Ive also done the oposoit and used only the rear brake an the front brake was still slightly warm to the touch but the back would be blistering hot. Is this normal?

Most of the braking is done with the front rotor so it's quite reasonable it is much hotter than the back. As long as it has good airflow, I wouldn't be worried about it.

There's a lot of kinetic energy the brakes have to absorb, they are going to get hot. The fact that when you shift to rear braking the rear brakes get hot while the front remain cool suggest there is nothing wrong.

    Brake pads are dragging.

Brakes reduce energy by using friction. Friction generates heat. It's not complicated.

    Heat from friction is normal.

Yes that's normal. The same effect occurs with car rotors.
