I make pretty good money. This is optimal! It makes lot of recreational and entertainment events more easily available to us when we share expenses. In the long run it will make for a better standard of living, earlier and better retirement. My wife has a PHD, and is in management.

That is personal and private business that nobody else needs to know about so you wouldn't be questioned.

When I was in a LDR, she made more than I do (she worked in finance for one of the larger investment firms in New York so with salary and bonus she made a lot more than I did); never bothered me. I was making low six figures, she was making seven figures; I work in a different industry.
