John Miller's "United States Army in World War II: The War in the Pacific: Guadalcanal: The First Offensive;"
Phillip A. Crowl's "United States Army in World War II: The War in the Pacific: Campaign in the Marianas;"
those two are official U. S. Army accounts;
Louis Morton's "The Fall of the Philippines: U.S. Army in World War II," describes a major U.S. Army action in Bataan, and the great suffering endured.

In the Pacific the Army showed up after the area was "secure". It was almost entirely a USN and USMC theater. So finding books on the Army in the Pacific theater is like trying to find books on USMC action in Europe.
