Use whatever camera you like,
but if you already own the Canon,
get some of your money's worth out of it by using it.

These days smartphones are delivering almost similar photo quality what you might get with-in 300$ so if you are not a dedicated photographer as a profession then I will highly recommend you to buy high-end camera smartphone example Huawei, sony. Only APS-C or Full-Frame can beat smartphone but lower size sensor mm... not a big difference compared to latest technology smartphone.
