How do I make clay figures that cam stand up and move to hold a pose for stop motion animation?

Every time I make a clay figure for my videos it falls apart and the joints get exposed and I never have enough clay to cover it and when I cover it my character becomes too top heavy and the artistic form is sacrificed for function. Help me please!

With an armature or metal flexible frame,

That holds its position when you move it,

Good stop motion animation has onion skins

That show you the range of movement before

Hitting the shutter button for the next frame.

Most things like walking running ect, can be

Dialed in so saves time, ok.

    Thanks

    Very best wishes

what kind of clay are you using? Modeling clay doesn't do that at all.

think Play dough but sturdier and it will also hold designs easier.

I played with that stuff when I was a kid back in the 50's.

Perhaps clay-figure animation is not the field for you. Have you ever considered taking up stamp collecting?
