By the way your choice of head unit produces 22 rms watts per channel. If you run that full bore through speakers in a closed car and that isn't loud enough for you, yes shop for an amplifier. What many people perceive as power though, is bass. Even at only 22 rms watts, sufficient bass reproduction can be satisfying in a balanced system. Of course more power is available when you add the right components for it, but if you buy much more than you can comfortably enjoy, the excess is just a large number you can brag about being a big number. In that case, also, if you live alone, you won't have anyone you'll need to keep asking to speak louder because you can't hear the conversation.
