Which Car Audio set up would you select?
I just bought a Kenwood DMX905s head unit and I want to buy some components for the front and an AMP , I am planning on adding coaxials in the back (but later). I really want to buy some nice components and start improving.
I was looking at
Morel Maximo 6
Focal Integration ISS 165
Alpine Alpine S65C
Please let me know any other options Under $200. (I would consider paying a bit more if its really going to make a difference)
I was a looking at these two amplifiers
Rockford Fosgate R400-4D - 75 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm
Alpine MRV-F300 - 50W RMS X 4 @4Ω
I dont want to play my music too loud but I do want to get the best sound from the speaker (not sure if the extra 25 watts RMS of the Rockford will affect sound quality).

I suggest you audition each set and make your own mind up. You can read the specs on all these items and if that leaves you still with no clear idea which you prefer, surely real-life experience might. By the way your choice of head unit produces 22 rms watts per channel. If you run that full bore through speakers in a closed car and that isn't loud enough for you, yes shop for an amplifier. What many people perceive as power though, is bass. Even at only 22 rms watts, sufficient bass reproduction can be satisfying in a balanced system. Of course more power is available when you add the right components for it, but if you buy much more than you can comfortably enjoy, the excess is just a large number you can brag about being a big number. In that case, also, if you live alone, you won't have anyone you'll need to keep asking to speak louder because you can't hear the conversation.

You're looking at wasting good money on a crap stereo system. Why?
