What did foreigners mean when they said "America is trying to take over the globe"? Why did ISIL declare a global caliphate?

I can tell you that after years of living in America, and serving in the military, America is NOT trying to take over the world, and has no desire to even if they could. Taking over the world is like believing in Utopia. I think it is the European Globalists who you need to worry about.

ISIL found out what Hitler found out about. I hope anyway. And that is if you want to take over the world, it's a big asss world, and you will assuredly fail.

Certain personality types are always trying to take over as much of the world as they can. These people are found in just about every country.

Or in other words there are competing factions of people trying to take over the world, and that often leads to conflict and violence. Is that so surprising? I mean it's not very nice but it's nothing new.
