How can one be a Muslim with out reading Al Quran and Hadiths. Do not mind about refusing to read both, so your question is not valid.

I believe you previously called yourself Paul? Now it is Tom and one supposes you might try Dick and Harry in due course? You have your opinion of Islam and I suspect it fits in with groups such as the BNP or the EDL or the NF? Would you be attached to one of these by any chance?

Muslims, generally, study the Qur'an frequently and are aware of many of the hadiths. We have our opinion and you have yours. It is a shame that you focus entirely on parts of the Qur'an that you believe help your Islamophobic stance and particularly the threat of terrorism or extremism.

I would remind you that the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving people whose only purpose is to perform their religious duties whilst allowing others to enjoy their way of life as long a it doesn't directly affect them to the detriment of those aforementioned religious duties. This is particularly true in western countries and the vast majority of Muslims in those countries are law abiding citizens. I suspect, however, that if you are indeed Islamophobic then you probably haven't had too many Muslims as friends or acquaintances and with whom you might have exchanged pleasantries in any way.

The Qur'an which I read speaks of peace, mercy, tolerance, forgiveness, charity, kindness and equity but, most importantly, of sincere devotion through prayer, religious observance and ultimately, salvation.

So which of those items do you find most offensive? Or were you so blinded by hatred from the onset that you were unable to see these things?

Show me a WW2 manual that says to British and American forces to "Be nice to Germans, Italians and Japanese" .... ?

At the time the Qur'an was written the Arabian Peninsula was a savage and barbaric place with constant fighting and hostility between tribes. Bloodshed was common place and amongst many of the tribes was the 'charming' practice of burying female children alive. The people who surrounded the Muslims, intent on slaughtering every man, woman and child, were little more than savages .... or do you think, in your ignorance, that they were all very British and civilized?

The practice of taking female slaves was common place as it was much more humane than leaving them to fend for themselves amongst savages who would certainly have treated them far harsher than the Muslims ever could. The rights of these slaves were protected and they were cared for quite adequately with the very real chance of being given their freedom. Perhaps you should seek the countenance of people who are more aware of what those dark times were actually like rather than drawing the wrong conclusions out of ignorance.

Why don't you try googling "Murders done by British and American forces in World War II" .....?

Would that include the bombings of Berlin or Hiroshima? Or do you think that whatever they did was justified because they were fighting a just cause against an unjust aggressor?

So what makes you think that the Muslims, in those days, were not also fighting against unjustified aggressors?

    Qur'an (2:290)

"Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors."

Do you assume, wrongly, that all those who fought against the Muslims were people just like you and the people next door?

    Why?
