Hello! I have recently bought a case of blank CDs and they do work! I have burned many songs onto them and they are more like a storage.?
Than an actual CD. The songs pop up in a list like a category and I have to edit and open up the Windows Media Player for them to play. It does not open up automatically like a normal CD does if you know what I mean, like that program with a blue and black background? I download the links, put them all in one folder, then move those links in the folder over to the blank CD, title it, I choose the "With a CD/DVD player" option, and then I choose the "Make a data CD (for computers and some CD players)". I hope you have the same version of mine so you'll know what I'm talking about. Is it just the options I'm choosing?

You're making a data CD for computers, the music is being burned as a computer format such as MP3.
Some CD players can read these, they are just doing what a regular MP3 player does. But not all players can read them.
CD players generally expect the music to be in Audio CD format. Look for an Audio CD option instead. This will burn the CD in a way that audio players can read (note how when you insert an audio CD into a computer, you can't 'open' the CD and browse the files, only play the CD tracks through an audio player).

you have burned them on the disc as data, using the disc as a storage device. you need to burn a music cd to play in a cd player
