I’ll be 27 years old in a few months and I’ve been single since 2014; should I just give up on waiting for the right one?

If I may give you some advice, you shouldn't wait for the right one, you should go out and find him or her. That goes for most things in life; yes patience is a virtue in certain situations, but sometimes you have to be more active than that and make things happen.

I don't think you should give up on finding your mate if this is something you still desire. You can do research on different ways you can find your mate and read books on the subject. Speak to a counselor, a religious leader, or a happy married couple about finding your mate and pitfalls to look out for. Maybe you need different ways of finding that special person, and it's okay to ask for help.

What, and give up all those years of really good waiting? I mean, waiting doesn't really requiring doing anything since it's pretty much the act of sitting there not doing anything until something else happens. But, hey, what's the worst that could happen if you ever decide to take personal responsibility for your life?

That depends on what "waiting" consists of.
