Someone is using my address on their ID?

I want to know what actions I can take. This is someone who has never lived in my home nor got my permission to use my address. I would rather not cause trouble as I would just like them removed from the system. Would I be able to talk to the DMV about this?

How on earth do you know that someone is using a fictitious address, yours, on their ID? Are you conspiring with this person and now you're tired of the comedy?

Check your credit report to find any unauthorized activity and then file a report with the local police.

Nothing you can do, as it has no effect on you at all.

What system? DMV? IRS? SSA? some doctors office, a credit card account? Each keep records in various databases that are in no way connected.

report it to the police. Forget concerns about causing trouble. This could be troublesome for you. With that ID, they can call a locksmith, complain that the lock on your door isn't working, get the locks changed, and then if the police show up, the police will check the id and think that person lives there and be on their way.

    Do not let this persist.

That's identity theft. Best to talk to report it to the police.
