Anybody else very concerned about leaving the EU and how U.K. could be heading “American way”?

The UK will be leaving the 28 and joining the 170 (in round numbers).

Currently, much of the rest of the world is doing much better than the EU so trade should pick up after the inevitable hiccup of leaving.

If we even voted for Brexit we were warned by the pundits that disaster would certainly follow but, strangely, nothing untoward seemed to happen. So much for experts.

As a free nation once more, we might even be able to negotiate a trade deal with the EU! That would save Merkel having to tell the bosses of Mercedes, BMW and Audi that massive layoffs will be inevitable.

Serious medicine shortages, food (particularly fresh fruit and vegetables) shortages and higher prices, fuel shortages, motorways in Kent turned into lorry parks as extra paperwork for goods coming from and going to the EU causes major delays at the Kent ports and civil unrest are just some of the likely consequences envisaged in the leaked 'Yellowhammer' report prepared for the government but spun as "worst case scenarios" and "project fear' by the compulsive liars in Boris Johnson's ideology-driven cabinet.

I'm very concerned but I shall be able to cope. I'm more concerned for people like my mentally ill brother-in-law who would become very ill if he doesn't get the medicine he needs and would struggle if the other essentials become scarce.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "American way" but the thought of parts of the NHS being opened up to American healthcare companies, the NHS having to pay American companies more for drugs and the UK having to accept imports of American meat and poultry produced to lower standards than the EU's as part of a trade deal concern me.
