Is 2000 included or excluded in the ‘90s?

    Well if you're being really pedantic about it, it's slightly complicated. The year 2000 was not the first year of the 21st century, 2001 was the first year of the 21st century. Think about it - there was no year 0, so 1AD was the first year of the first century AD.

    However, when talking about individual decades like the 90s or the 2000s or whatever, people generally mean the years that end in '90' or '00' or whatever. So in this case it's correct to say that the year 2000 is in the 2000s, but at the same time it is also the last year of the 20th century.

    excluded because its the start of a new time period. think of it like this during the age of the dinosaurs right it was the mesozoic era. then there were three different time periods there was the triassic jurassic and creataceous each were all in the mesozoic era all included in the mesozoic era but excluded from one another thats basically what the 2000s and 1990s are. i hope this helps
