How many times have you been committed to a Psych Ward and why?

I've been taken there in handcuffs. These places suck and they make you go to classes. Some cafeterias have good food and they don't have caffeine the coffee.

They take your strings from your shoes and most places you have to wear a gown for like 48 hours or so.

They have a curfew, lights out really and the bed are hard. I fell one time and shattered my head. I had a brain bleed and was in the ICU for five days.

They really annoy me. I have Bi-Polar 1 (manic) but I am not going to tell my parents.

I almost accidentally over-dosed on Seroquel (Quetiapine). And I drank maybe one ounce of Hydrogen Peroxide. Poison Control called the Ambulance but I didn't have to go to the ER. But I am not crazy just stupid. Plus boys want to go out on dates. That is a big hassle with the drama.

I'm sorry you're going through this. It can be humiliating to be committed to a psych ward, but you brought it on yourself by your dangerous behavior. Seroquel is a serious medication, and you could have brought on permanent nerve damage by overdosing on it. You're lucky you haven't developed Tardive Dyskinesia. Look that up, it should scare you.

Falling and getting a brain bleed is very unfortunate. Did you fall out of bed or was there some violence involved (such as someone hitting you)?

As for the curfew and the other minor irritations, take a long view. Those things will end when you get out - and they can't hold you for very long, this isn't 1930.

Luckily never, only when I've been medically treated for my previous overdoses.
