My computer is windows 7 - how can I fix my right click option - it no longer works and when I do it, my windows exp keeps restarting.?
Well, after trying everything, I realized that even my ability to do a restore, do a chkdsk, etc was gone. The restore was being stopped by an antivirus program. So, I noticed that the day before Hitmanproalert had done an update. So, I removed the program and bingo, every thing is back to normal. I am soooooo happy. It totally shut me down - and I was blaming my mouse. Thanks for all the suggestions though. Very appreciative for the support of my yahoo friends.

Try running the check disk fix option (chkdsk/f). To get to it open the Run utility and type msconfig and click ok. When the next window opens go to Tools and click on that. In the next window scroll down to Command Prompt and click on that and then click on Launch. In the next window type chkdsk/f next to the flashing _ and hit enter. Restart your PC. Let your PC run and don't interferer with it until after it has finished running the program and completely restarted. This should repair anything wrong with your OS.

Hi.
Well, since it is very likely the mouse, try unplugging the mouse right after Windows is started & using it with the Win7 keyboard shortcut for the right-click.
If the options work properly that way then it is the mouse & You can pick up any $3 to $5 mouse to replace it.
If the right-click options don't work when used with the keyboard shortcuts, then You may have a corrupted driver file, & running setup repair should help.

First, try a new mouse. Most likely, however, you need a new hard drive. Get a solid state drive because they last longer and are much faster.
