Why do people pay for dating sites? Isn't it it just making a profile and looking at profiles? You can do that for free o FaceBook!?

well, aren't dating sites nothing more than just making a profile, looking at profiles, and sending a message to someone you're interested in and waiting for someone else to message you first too? Instead of $70 a month or $120 for 4 months, FaceBook is free for the same thing.

There are free dating sites and apps of course but the ones that charge usually do a better job of matching people with similar interests (as opposed to everything being just about appearance). You are correct that Facebook is just now setting up a dating feature of a sort and if that's what you'd like to use I'm sure Mark Zuckerberg would be very happy about it. The bottom line is that if all you want is sex and you photograph well you should be fine with something free like Tinder. But if you're not as photogenic and/or are looking for a partner for life instead of just for the night, you'd do better over at eHarmony or one of those that takes personal data and compares it to what other people are looking for.
