Name some movies that were better than the book?
I read a book by Sydney Sheldon called "Master of the Game". Great book. I watched the three part TV miniseries which was made in the 1980s and it was even better than the book.

Starship Troopers (dir. Paul Verhoeven) is a good example. The original book was mostly an unironic endorsement of fascist ideology, while the movie satirizes a lot of the jingoistic tone of the original. It's a very funny and entertaining movie.

Even though I am a huge Fan of Clive Cussler books, I did like the ending better to the movie "Raise the Titanic".
Clive was furious that they totally changed the ending, and vowed to never sell the rights to any of his other books.
He relented 25 years later.........and let them make "Sahara".
when asked what he thought of it..........(after they of course, did not keep true to the book, at all) .......
he famous reply was............"Call me in another in 25 years."
