can I get fired if I find the rude customer on social media and DM him?
Im in California, I’m a server. And I had a rude customer, I was taking his order and he was making a smart *** remarks to me and all and all he Was just rude, I was so shocked to how he was talking to me KNOWING I’m handling his food... I was so mad I felt like I couldn’t even check up on his table without him being just plain rude... my manager ran his food out to him... when I ran his card I noticed he’s Romanian by his last name, I’m also Romanian. So it somehow hit me harder to know he can just get away with treating ppl like ****, so I searched his name on Facebook and found his profile... I wanted to direct message him about how he needs to be more kind to ppl because you’ll never know when someone will spit in your food.... can I get fired if I send it?

It's possible, if this person could identify you in some way, and complain to corporate. You could just have a friend DM him, if it was so important to you.
But I think you are going about this the wrong way. Sometimes people are jerks, don't let it bother you so much.

Better than facebook post, find out where he lives and pee on his door handle.

They could fire you if he complains. But you may also be able to sue them for doing that since you do have every right to speech

Yes you can get fired for doing that, most employees in all states are at will employees, meaning that you can be fired at any time for any reason.

“A former colleague of mine posted about how he was going to use up all his sick leave then quit. He posted it at 9 a.m., and was told he didn’t have a job at 11 a.m.”
2. “I had to fire someone for this. He was a volunteer firefighter and left for a call which I allowed. Fifteen minutes later someone showed me his five minute-old post of him riding quads saying something along the lines of ‘Sometimes you just need to F-off from work.’ That put him on a final warning. He then left because he said HIS house was on fire then half-an-hour later his wife tagged him in a photo of him sitting in a kiddie pool in front of his house. The funny thing is, in both cases, if he had simply asked to leave early I probably would have said yes.”

No. The 43rd amendment protects your job in the event that you insult a customer on social media.
SMH!
