Why do Americans celebrate St Patrick's Day, when none of them have any Irish bones in their bodies?
Americans are English and Welsh. Shouldn't they celebrate St George's Day or St David's Day or something?
Canadians (well the remaining white ones) are French and Scottish AND Irish. So if anything, white Canadians would celebrate that holiday.
Yes, if you pick up a history book, you'd learn that England colonized America (New England) and France Scotland and Ireland all colonized Canada. Also, America was founded by and named after a Welshman.

There are more people of IRISH decent in the US than there are in Ireland. Red Hair and freckles too.

It’s tradition. EVERYONE is Irish ☘️ on Saint Patrick’s Day. Just wear green and hush. Or else you run the risk of getting ‘pinched’. Stop fighting American holidays! CONFORM, DAMIT. *hands a shot of Baily’s

Gosh, why do we celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Maybe if you could connect St. George/David with alcohol, you'd have a winner.
