Being "woke" simply means that your eyes are open, that you can clearly see things for what they are and for what they aren't, that you can clearly see people for who they are and for who they aren't. It is realizing that you can never fully trust anyone, even the closest people to you, such as your own mom or dad or sister or brother. When you become woke, you become alert and aware of your surroundings, aware of the type of people/things you're dealing with, and you can then make the decisions that could save your life.

Stop using the word woke and start using the word Awakened. Check out David Wilcock's work.

I'm not familiar with the expression, but as someone here said, it sounds like mindfulness, being aware of the present moment. It's become very popular. Therapists are using it.
If you're interested, I mention ways to learn in my answers. There's a book recommended by the Oxford University Mindfulness Center - Mindfulness by Williams and Penman. Mindfulness apps are very popular. Headspace is the most popular, also the most expensive, having a monthly fee about the same as Netflix. Calm is another popular one.
A reviewer says the best one is Mindful Life Project, which you can use for free. .
This is one of the mind-body methods, like tai chi exercise. More in this answer -

Video - Headspace makes use of clever animations to explain concepts. That's part of its popularity. It de-mystifies mindfulness and meditation.

I doubt that this means Buddhism, as Buddhists are such a small minority.

Theologian, self-proclaimed Jesus scholar who I recognize thinks more like a neo-psychoanalytical psychologist Dr. Marcus Borg describes the model of the pre-critical naivete and post critical naivete. Kids who gave up on religion after the end of Sunday school in 8th grade in my generation would have read about Buddhism and talked about enlightenment. Wokeness and all the rest is really all the same ****.
Coming back to Dr Borg's model, it's about coming out from behind one's eyes. The adolescent will try to alter their appearance and their actions or even entire thought processes just to prove they have control over them. Anorexia happens at this time due to this conflict. "Wokeness" or whatever term one uses simply refers to the thoughts and actions associated with the development of the pre-frontal cortex. No longer are you a wild animal relying on reptilian emotional reactions, but you can mitigate how both the "I" and "me" self(s) relate to the world, the respond in real time.
The conflict of enlightenment is just that; de-lacer, of to cut... out of the selves. We cut from the womb, pre-criticism, reliance on an authority figure to reject authority on to obtaining it ourselves. We are the archetypal "Jesus" if we allow ourselves to develop into it. If not, we are proverbially autistic, stuck in ourselves. The light is coming from somewhere and other's can't read because we are standing in it's way.

I'm a millenial but I'm wouldn't say I'm woke
See I'm against racism and sexism thus i dont hate white people or men. So I cant be woke.
I don't go around telling everyone I'm anti racist and turn make vast generlastions about white people a d I dont go around calling myself a feminist who is for gender equality while shitting all over men. That's what woke people do. They are hypocritical bigots

I'm not a younger person, but I can answer the question. There's a whole movement today called 'mindfulness'. It has to do with meditation, but also just being AWARE of what's going on, what's happening to you, how you feel about it, etc. Being 'woke' is just being aware, and what's wrong with that? There used to be a movement called Be Here Now, started by an Indian dude named Krishnamurty. That was very similar, and it also had a component of living in the moment, not dwelling in the past or the future. Just 'woke' sound fresher and more hip!
