    (120 g) (0.8814) = 105.768 g of C in the 120 g of the CH compound

    120 minus 105.768 = 14.232 g of H in the 120 g of CH cmpd

    105.768 g / 12.011 g/mol = 8.806 mol of C in the 120 g

    14.232 g / 1.008 g/mol = 14.12 mol of H in the 120 g

    The answer by Bobby_Thin used 100 g, not the 120 in your question.

    in 100 g of compound we have 88.14 g of C or 88.14 / 12 mol of C = 7.345 mol of C

    mole of H in that mass = 11.86 / 1.00 = 11.86 mol of H
