Taxing internet sales?
I am definitely buying FAR less now that they are taxing internet sales here. Anyone else changing their purchase habits?

I'm very much still for internet sales because I don't have to spend time and gas looking in more than one store for things I want. Buying on the net greatly simplifies shopping.

Not changing because purchases were made only when needed, and the tax isn't enough to discourage people who hate to run around to stores, shopping.

Sales taxes are fairly regressive to begin with, and states don't really do much for internet companies; at least not enough that justifies taxing their sales.
Of course, most states just want more money.

Taxing internet sales only levels the playing field vis a vis brick and mortar stores.
Not buying things that one wants or needs just because there's tax is, well, stupid.

Not at all. I wasn’t buying a bunch of stuff I didn’t need to begin with, so why would having to pay tax on online purchases change my habits?

Yes. I don’t buy as much as I use to because 6.25% tax can add up really fast.

Yes. But not for that reason. I am saving up to buy a yacht.

I don't mind paying taxes. I DO mind how they're diverted away from programs that help the average joe (like education) to the billionaire class in the form of corporate welfare and insane tax breaks they don't need, and bloated military budgets that grow every year
