Yes, we said leave. Unfortunately we have a crowd of MPs who don't like the result of a democratic vote and are doing all they can to block it. They only want another vote in the hope we will change our minds. I don't know about anyone else but the only thing I'd vote for at the moment is to give this bunch of squabbling toddlers a public spanking in Parliament Square.

The problem is that "leave" is a slogan, not a proposal. At the time of the referendum, it was clear (or at least should have been clear) that the terms of the departure would have to be negotiated. And what has become clear over three years is that "leave" was a stand-in for three or four different versions (some of which would have been rejected by the publisher of political novels as too unrealistic to be plausible in a novel) of what the terms of the relationship between the U.K. and the E.U. would be and how that relationship would be compatible with the commitments made to the people of Northern Ireland.

It's really puts the lie to referendums when the ruling class refuses to accept the results.

The inference is that a significant number of leavers may now want to remain, given the prospect of leaving without a deal, or even leaving with a deal on bad terms.

In an election tainted by Russian meddling, with no regard for the rights of the rest of Britain, yes. Now it is time for the public to be consulted again after the Brexit inclined have failed to deliver. Get on with it.
