Is Famotidine over the counter the same as prescribed famotidine?

Little brother being a brat was just wondering if its the same as prescribed.

Update:

He's taking 40mg prescribed famotidine and doesn't want to buy over the counter ones

    He will soon have to buy them over the counter because they are putting a stop to buying them with a prescription.

    A drug is a drug, and doesn't know if it's prescription or not. Almost always, the difference between prescription and non-prescription is the dosage. Usually higher dosages require a script.

    If you have decent insurance, then getting scrip will make it cheaper that OTC.
