Any advice, hints, tips, tricks, etc., regarding a 1999 Cadillac SUV with 150,000+ miles is/are welcome.?

I know a few things about it. It's probably been driven in regular driving mode instead of third gear when it should have been; it uses or leaks oil; I already know it needs new tires and new brakes; it needs to have oil added somewhat frequently; the front fan motor doesn't work; and it's necessary to open the front doors by rolling down the windows and using the outer handles. The doors are also hard to open.

If you believe that, DON'T BUY ANY CAR. You are the problem, not the vehicle.

That said, given what you claim about the car, my advice is to check the going rate for SCRAP METAL.

If you're thinking of buying it, DON'T unless it's REALLY cheap. It's a dog.

If this heap of trouble belongs to someone else, you need to let them keep it and walk away. If it's your car, I'll put you on the prayer list. You could buy a 5 year old Corolla for what fixing that Cadillac will cost.

Don't even take it as a gift! Tow it to the scrap yard and get what you can for it. The car was crap when it was new.
