Why is Adam Wainwright salary so low. Cards signed him one year $5 million they only paid him $2 million in 2019.Wouldnt any team offer him?

He’s probably an aging star pitcher who probably would be lucky to get the amount of dollars he’s given nowadays

    1) Wainwright was coming off a (2018) season in which he made just 8 starts, plus he was a shell of the pitcher he used to be in the 2 years prior to that His 2019 contract had a $2,000,000 base plus incentives and he hit all the benchmarks so he actually made $10,000,000 in 2019.

    2) The guy is 38 years old and entering his last season in the majors. Considering teams are inclined to go with younger, less expensive players in the day and age the $5,000,000 Wainwright will get in 2020 is more than generous.

Quite honestly, I'm outrage by that salary.  How can he be expected to survive on such a low amount?
